A cousin recently got married at the age of 37, he was a virgin. Somebody I respect just recently let me into the fact that he married at the age of 30 also as a virgin. There are two things I deduct from these two instances. - Sex is over hyped, everybody isn't doing it as popular media is making us believe. - Though, they are all devout Christians, it wasn't their resolve or self discipline that kept them, it seem like they were favoured with the right circumstances, condition and mind set. The much I know about two of them is that they almost never got married due to lack of feelings for the opposite sex. Which brings me to the matter of premarital sex. Biblically we aren't supposed to indulge. But I don't think that choice is totally ours to make nor the credits ours to claim if we didn't indulge before marriage. Like Paul the Apostle wrote in his letter to the Romans. "For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not." (Romans 7:18). My take is that God's grace and mercy is the reason why we seem to be strong wherever we think we are. There is no room for boasting and pride here because it wasn't our strength and might that kept us but God's power. And for lots of other very good friends who for circumstances beyond their control couldn't boast of testimonies like this. It really doesn't make any difference because The Lord is our righteousness and in Him we are complete. (Isaiah 54:17) Peace!
